"The tennis world right now is definitely the changing of the guard. Rafa and Fed are not there anymore, and you could comfortably say it's the back end of Novak's career now," he said. He acknowledged the competitive energy of the new generation, including Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, and Jannik Sinner.
On a personal note, Kyrgios expressed a specific desire to face Jannik Sinner and Stefanos Tsitsipas. "I would love to play Jannik Sinner at some stage. Hopefully not my first match back! … But that is probably the one which would be circled on my calendar," he said. "And it's always fun playing Tsitsipas. I think we all know that is a very healthy one for the tennis world."
